Warriors Eye Top College Coach as Steve Kerr Replacement: Report
The Golden State Warriors' season came to an end last week with a play-in tournament loss to the Phoenix Suns, and while nothing is set in stone, it felt like the run of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and head coach Steve Kerr could be nearing its conclusion.
Late in the game, Kerr gathered Curry and Green - the final two remaining players from the team's four championship runs together - and was caught on camera saying, "I don't know what's going to happen next, but I love you guys to death. Thank you."
After the game, Kerr echoed a similar sentiment while speaking to the media. "I don't know what's going to happen," he said. "I still love coaching, but I get it. These jobs all have an expiration date. There is a run that happens, and when the run ends, sometimes it's time for new blood and new ideas."

Kerr is expected to take the next several days - and potentially weeks - to evaluate his future while remaining in discussions with the organization's front office. Early reports, however, suggest a potential split after 12 seasons.
One possible replacement has already emerged: Todd Golden, the national championship-winning head coach of the Florida Gators men’s basketball, according to Yahoo Sports' Kevin O’Connor.
Warriors owner Joe Lacob and his family reportedly have a relationship with Golden dating back to his time at the San Francisco Dons men’s basketball, where he coached for three seasons before taking the job at Florida, where he has spent the past four years.
The futures of Curry and Green are also uncertain. While both players remain under contract, Green spoke candidly about the team's outlook during a recent episode of "The Draymond Green Show."
"I hope he's our coach next season," Green said. "You want my opinion? I think not, just because that's what it feels like. It felt like that was it."
"I've never been this uncertain since earlier in my career about what happens next," he added, "I'm truly at a loss because you don't know what direction comes next. … I also hope I'm on this team next season. We don't know that either. Man, if that was it, what a run."
