Sarasota man arrested for alleged sucker punch of Eagles’ Dallas Goedert
An arrest was made Monday in the alleged altercation involving Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert being sucker punched Friday at a South Dakota bar, according to multiple reports.
The suspect is from Sarasota, Florida.
Kyle Hadala, 29, was arrested and charged with simple assault, according to Aberdeen, South Dakota police.
Security camera footage from the Zoo Bar shows Goedert getting punched in the face, which led to him being transported to a nearby hospital for treatment before getting released, according to the police and ESPN.
Goedert went to high school in South Dakota and played collegiately at South Dakota State.
“At approximately 1:07am on 06/20/2020 Aberdeen Police responded to the 1000 block of South Main Street in reference to an assault,” an Aberdeen police statement said, according to its Facebook page. “It was discovered that an adult male had been punched in the face. The male was transported to Avera St. Lukes Hospital where he was treated and released.
“Investigation led to the arrest of Kyle Douglas Hadala, age 29 of Sarasota, Florida. He was charged with simple assault.”
ESPN reported Hadala was in South Dakota for work, and he was released on a bond with a court appearance scheduled for July 10th.
In the video, it appears Goedert was knocked out, but multiple reports state he was not have any serious injuries, which is why Hadala is facing the misdemeanor charge of simple assault, Brown County State Attorney Earnest Thompson told NJ.com.
