The World’s Strongest Man is delayed until November. Here’s how to see them compete now

The World’s Strongest Man is still months away from returning to Bradenton.

But to whet your appetite during the COVID-19 crisis, there’s a new weekly show on social media throughout the summer months.

Starting next Monday, the World’s Strongest Man: Home Edition will air on Snapchat for 10 weeks. Eight different competitors from around the world will compete against each other while at home in quarantine from the coronavirus pandemic.

Eddie Hall, who won the World’s Strongest Man in 2017, hosts each episode.

“I can’t wait for the fans to see the creativity these guys bring to the table,” Hall said in a press release. “I’ve been wondering how the athletes have been getting ready for The World’s Strongest Man competition in November, and many will be without a gym right now. It will be fun to see how they stay in shape somehow!”

A sneak peak into the show came Monday morning with a trailer episode.

In it, Hall explained how the competition works. Athletes will display feats of strength from objects around the house, combining heavy weights from their own gyms.

“A heavy appliance, a family member, the dog,” Hall said in the Snapchat trailer episode. “It doesn’t really matter. Whatever. You get the drift.”

The winners are determined by a fan vote. To vote, “swipe up at the end of each episode and vote for their favorite competitor based on performance and creativity. At the end of the two rounds, the top two competitors with the most votes will go head-to-head in fan voting to claim the ultimate $10,000 prize awarded by World’s Strongest Man,” according to a press release.

“And remember, you guys are the judges don’t foul this up,” Hall said in the Snapchat trailer release. “These guys are big, so vote right.”

Competitiors include Eddie Williams, Robert Oberst, Rob Kearney, Luke Stoltman, Adam Bishop, Nick Best, Rongo Keene, and Evan Singleton.

The WSM returns to Manatee County on Nov. 11-15 in Bradenton. The event was originally slated for May 20-24, but was rescheduled due to the ongoing global coronavirus outbreak.

IMG and Endeavor Content’s Film 45 are producing both the WSM and WSM: Home Edition.
