Three-star Florida high school quarterback commits to this SEC school

Three-star quarterback Brian Maurer, who is from Ocala West Port High, announced his commitment to Tennessee on Wednesday.

Rated the No. 18 best pro-style quarterback for the 2019 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports, Maurer chose the Vols over multiple other offers.

Maurer, who is heading to The Opening Finals this weekend, had in-state offers from UCF and USF. However, his recruitment picked up in June with an unofficial visit to Tennessee and a subsequent offer last week.

Maurer also attended camps at Florida and Ohio State. The Buckeyes offered him last weekend.
