Fans react to Rays trading franchise player Evan Longoria
The Tampa Bay Rays’ decision to trade Evan Longoria to the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday created backlash from Rays fans on social media.
Here’s a look at how some fans reacted:
Ok @RaysBaseball No Face of the Franchise, No New Stadium. Simple. Take the team elsewhere.

This team is constantly rebuilding they are never going to amount to anything if it continues this way - they’ll trade those prospects before they ever make it up here.

and you think The Trop was empty before..

Not a bad move..@SFGiants traded Span & Arroya to Rays for Evan Longoria. Can #SFGiants trade away Pablo Sandoval, please? I don't want Pablo a G-Men,he did dirty during his stunt in Boston,I won't 4give him for the betrayal BS. Hope more moves are made to better the team,BOBBY.

Understand why but this will test what fan base is left. I'm already committed for 2018 season due to Double Play season tickets plan, but will seriously consider whether any future commitment as Rays don't seem committed.

Getting more and more difficult to be a Rays fan. Longo is the consummate professional, was always good to the fans, and a reason to watch. There are others, but the feeling is they'll be gone soon too...

@kengaeth68 way to go Rays, trade your franchise player. Would be like Yankees trading Jeter two years ago, NOT. Sure bet this increases ticket sales. Lol

Annual salary dump, waiting for the idiots to dump Archer, and others, KK, Souza In next couple of years. When are they selling the team so it can moved? Sad day for Tampa Bay baseball fans

I’ve been a Rays fan for 19 years, and this has to be one of the stupidest trades I’ve ever seen. I get you rebuild, but build around the cornerstone. I’ll always enjoy the years following, but I am officially done with this franchise.
