Saint Stephen’s alum Sean Kelly earned conditional status on the 2018 Web.com Tour after the final stage of Qualifying School on Sunday.

Former Saint Stephen’s and University of South Carolina golfer Sean Kelly finished tied for 73rd place in the Web.com Tour Qualifying School’s final stage, which concluded Sunday at Arizona’s Whirlwind Golf Club.

Players who advanced to the final stage were guaranteed conditional status on the Web.com Tour for the 2018 season. The winner earned fully exempt status, while finishers Nos. 2-10 (and ties) were awarded exempt status for the first 12 events in 2018 and finishers Nos. 11-45 (and ties) were granted exempt status for the first eight events in 2018.

Kelly entered the final round near that last tier, sitting in a tie for 47th place on the strength of a second-round 63. However, a 70 in the final round dropped him 26 places into a tie for 73rd.

For the four-round tournament, Kelly posted an 11-under 277 total, which was three shots off the pace for the top 45. The event was held at two courses at Whirlwind Golf Club: Devil’s Claw and The Cattail.

Lee McCoy won the lone fully exempt tour card with a 28-under 260.
