Lakewood Ranch’s Sebastian Aguirre places fifth at 4A state meet
Lakewood Ranch High junior Sebastian Aguirre finished fifth in the 100-yard butterfly on Friday at the Class 4A state meet at Sailfish Splashpark Aquatic Athletics Center.
Aguirre finished in 50.73 seconds after placing seventh earlier in the day in the preliminaries.
Later in the meet, Aguirre placed 11th in the 100 backstroke in 53.45.
Also for the Mustangs:
- Emily Massengale finished eighth in the 100 backstroke in 58.12.
- The girls 200 medley relay team (Massengale, Emily Loefgren, Keely Radloff and Katelynn Coons) won the consolation final in 1:50.13.
- The girls 200 freestyle relay team (Haille Bogumil, Loefgren, Suzy Aguirre and Coons) placed 13th in 1:40.70.
- Radloff placed 15th in the 200 free in 1:56.13.
- The girls 400 free relay team (Bogumil, Massengale, Aguirre and Radloff) finished 15th in 3:41.29.
- Loefgren took 16th in the 200 individual medley in 2:11.61.
The Lakewood Ranch girls finished 15th out of 42 teams with 44 points; the boys placed 28th out of 50 teams with 20 points.
