Saint Stephen’s RB Chase Brown commits to Western Michigan
Saint Stephen’s running back Chase Brown verbally committed to Western Michigan via an announcement on Twitter.
Brown ran for 151 yards on seven carries and three touchdowns in Saint Stephen’s blowout victory over Spring Hill Bishop McLaughlin last Friday to open the Sunshine State Athletic Conference playoffs.
Saint Stephen’s is the defending SSAC state champions.
The performance was Brown’s seventh 100-yard game this season. He has 1,078 rushing yards on 59 carries and 19 touchdowns this year. After moving to Bradenton in 2016, Brown tallied 1,416 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns in his junior season.
Brown, along with his twin brother, Sydney, have received considerable Division I interest. Quarterback Fred Billy is also getting attention.
Chase Brown’s commitment comes less than a week after WMU dropped by Saint Stephen’s practice to check in on the senior running back.
