The Florida High School Athletic Association will release the updated playoff points on Tuesday. But we tabulated the numbers a day early to give you a sneak peek at what to expect for Manatee County area programs.

Teams are in order of points, except when determining district champion slots, as of Monday. When deciding district champions for Class 8A-5A, the team with the best district record entering Week 10 was chosen in lieu of a team already clinching. The points average decides tiebreakers unless the teams with identical district records played head-to-head.

Double asterisks signal teams that have clinched a district title.

Here’s a look at each teams district record and total points:

PROJECTED FIRST-ROUND PAIRINGS

Lakewood Ranch at Venice; Braden River at Naples Gulf Coast; Plant City Durant at Tampa Bay Tech; Palmetto at Pinellas Park.

Notes: Palmetto and Lakewood Ranch both rose a spot, while Braden River stood pat with the highest wild-card points average. The Tigers and Mustangs rise is a result of multiple teams in other districts faltering last week. Lakewood Ranch, though, doesn’t have much wiggle room with two games left.

Notes: Southeast’s loss in Wauchula sent the Seminoles tumbling to the No. 8 seed as the last wild-card team, leading by 0.33 points over Clewiston. Bayshore’s latest close loss effectively eliminated the Bruins from a playoff berth.

Class 3A-Region 3

Clearwater Central Catholic 41.75

Calvary Christian 35.83

Trinity Catholic 34.71

PROJECTED SEEDS

1. Clearwater Central Catholic, 41.75

2. Tampa Catholic, 38.67

3. Lakeland Christian, 38.17

4. Clearwater Calvary Christian, 35.83

PROJECTED FIRST-ROUND PAIRINGS

Clearwater Calvary Christian at Clearwater Central Catholic; Lakeland Christian at Tampa Catholic.

Notes: Not much more can be said about Cardinal Mooney’s forfeited losses severely impacting its playoff chances. With only four playoff berths in the lower classifications per region, the Cougars were in a must-win scenario for the final three weeks. Their loss puts them at the bottom and needing lots of help.
