DRC has suspension lifted by New York Giants
Lakewood Ranch High graduate Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is rejoining the New York Giants, according to multiple reports, following last week’s suspension.
NFL.com reported DRC is returning to the team’s East Rutherford, N.J., facility on Wednesday.
The Giants were off Tuesday following Sunday night’s road victory in Denver.
The victory over the Broncos marked New York’s first win in six games this season.
DRC received his team suspension last week after reportedly getting into multiple heated exchanges with head coach Ben McAdoo that started during the team’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 8.
That led to a meeting at the team’s facility where DRC left, which forced McAdoo and the Giants to indefinitely suspend him, according to reports.
The New York Post reported DRC “was docked $410,588 for the one-game suspension.” The Post also reported DRC had a meeting with McAdoo on Tuesday that went well for both sides.
That led to DRC’s suspension for violating team rules getting lifted.
During his one-week hiatus, DRC attended Tennessee State’s homecoming game, according to The Tennessean. DRC was an All-American cornerback for Tennessee State before the Arizona Cardinals drafted him in the first round of the 2008 NFL draft.
A 10-year NFL veteran, the 31-year-old Rodgers-Cromartie is in his fourth season with the Giants. It’s his longest stay with any franchise.
