Sarasota fighter wins final amateur bout before turning pro

In a USA Boxing fight in St. Petersburg on Saturday night, “Joltin’” Johnnie Langston, 27, of the Sarasota Boxing Club won on a disqualification in round three over Ahmad Jons, 25, of St. Pete.

Langston is now 15-3, and Jons is 5-1. This was Langston’s last amateur fight before turning pro.

The Sarasota Boxing Club’s overall record is now 376-120, tops in Florida amateur boxing.
