Marauders defeat Stone Crabs in 10th inning to prevent series sweep
Alfredo Reyes hit a walk-off single with two outs in the 10th inning as the Bradenton Marauders avoided a four-game sweep with a 5-4 victory over the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Sunday at LECOM Park.
Ty Moore scored the winning run after he reached base with a single, advanced to second on an error and then went to third on a walk by Logan Ratledge.
Casey Hughston hit an RBI single in the third inning and Kevin Krause hit a solo home run in the fourth to give the Marauders a 2-0 lead. The Stone Crabs came back to take the lead in the fifth inning when they scored four runs, including a single by Ryan Boldt that scored David Olmedo-Barrera.
Bradenton tied the game 4-4 in the sixth.
The Marauders had three relievers combine to throw five scoreless innings in the victory. Sam Street (4-2) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Fernando Baez (2-1) took the loss in the Florida State League game.
