Marauders blanked for third time in seven games

Brock Burke and Spencer Jones combined for a shutout as the Charlotte Stone Crabs topped the Bradenton Marauders 3-0 on Thursday at LECOM Park.

Burke (3-5) went five scoreless innings, allowing four hits while striking out four and walking two to get the win. Jones pitched four scoreless innings for his first save of the season.

Logan Sendelbach (2-5) went six innings for the Marauders, allowing two runs and five hits while striking out four in the Florida State League game.

The Marauders were held off the scoreboard for the fifth time this season, including the third time in the past seven games, while the Stone Crabs’ staff recorded its 11th shutout of the year.

Despite the loss, Bradenton is 6-2 against Charlotte this season. The Marauders trail Fort Myers by three games for first place in the South Division. Charlotte is 3.5 games back.
