Marauders postponed by rain in Kissimmee

Thursday’s game between the Bradenton Marauders and the Florida Fire Frogs in Kissimmee was postponed because of rain.

Weather permitting, the teams will try to play a doubleheader Friday at Osceola County Stadium, with the first game scheduled for 5:05 p.m.

The Marauders have not announced their starting pitchers for either end of the doubleheader. The Fire Frogs will throw Enderson Franco (3-5, 4.59) in the opener and Oriel Caicedo (0-3, 6.67) in the nightcap.

The Marauders entered Thursday’s Florida State League play one game behind the Jupiter Hammerheads in the South Division’s second-half standings. The Palm Beach Cardinals won the first half title, clinching a spot in next month’s FSL playoffs.

Bradenton has 32 games left on the schedule, including an eight-game homestand that starts Thursday, Aug. 10 with a four-game set against the Charlotte Stone Crabs. That’s followed by four games with the Daytona Tortugas.
