Herald Correspondent

Jordan George and Casey Hughston homered, and the Bradenton Marauders extended their winning streak to four by holding on for a 9-8 victory Wednesday night against the St. Lucie Mets at First Data Field in Port St. Lucie.

Stephen Alemais and Mitchell Tolman had three hits apiece for the Marauders, who have won six of seven and eight of their past 10 games. Hughston and Kevin Krause each had two hits.

Jess Amedee (5-5) pitched two scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out two, to record the win. Sam Street got the final two outs for his first save.

The Marauders turned four double plays in moving 10 games above .500 in the second half of the Florida State League season.

Former University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow went 3 for 5 for the Mets and is hitting .315 since being promoted to the FSL.
