Big third inning boosts Keller, Marauders
Mitch Keller pitched seven full innings for the first time since May 5, and the Bradenton Marauders beat the St. Lucie Mets 4-2 for their third consecutive win on Tuesday in the Florida State League.
Playing in St. Lucie for the first time since Tim Tebow was promoted to the High-A Mets, the Marauders scored all their runs in the third inning, highlighted by doubles from Logan Ratledge, Jordan George and Kevin Krause, off St. Lucie starter Merandy Gonzalez (4-2).
Keller (6-3), who left his last start early after getting hit by a batted ball, scattered five hits, struck out six and walked none. Closer Seth McGarry struck out Tebow with a runner on first to end the game for his 14th save.
Tebow went 0 for 3 with two strikeouts and a sacrifice.
With the win, Bradenton improved to 8-4 against St. Lucie this season.
