Gage Hinsz powers Bradenton Marauders past Threshers
For the second consecutive night, the Bradenton Marauders relied on a strong outing by a starting pitcher to earn a Florida State League victory at LECOM Park in Bradenton.
On Thursday, Mitch Keller threw six innings of one-hit ball. On Friday, Gage Hinsz (5-5) allowed five hits over seven innings to power the Marauders’ 6-4 victory against the Clearwater Threshers. Hinsz struck out four and allowed two runs, both on Zach Green’s two-run homer in the second.
Ty Moore took over from there. He had three hits and two RBIs, including one in the two-run third that put Bradenton in front for good, and one in the three-run seventh. Stephen Alemais contributed a two-run single in the seventh.
Seth McGarry allowed a run, but struck Mark Laird out with a runner on third to end the game for his 13th save of the season.
Seranthony Dominguez (3-1) went 3 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and two hits. He also struck out four and walked four.
