Bormann’s run-scoring hit lifts Bradenton to victory over Tampa Yankees
John Bormann hit a run-scoring single in the seventh inning, helping the Bradenton Marauders to a 5-4 win over the Tampa Yankees on Sunday at LECOM Park.
Kevin Krause scored on the play after he led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on a single by Casey Hughston.
Cole Tucker scored on a double play in the first inning to give the Marauders a 1-0 lead. The Yankees came back to take the lead in the second inning when Austin Aune hit a two-run home run.
Bradenton tied the game 4-4 in the sixth when Jordan George hit a solo home run.
Hughston singled three times, also stealing a base in the win.
Daniel Zamora (1-1) got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Caleb Frare (0-2) took the loss in the Florida State League game. Seth McGarry retired the side in order for his ninth save of the season.
