Bradenton Marauders fall in 12 to Palm Beach in FSL

Blake Drake hit a walk-off single with two outs in the 12th inning, as the Palm Beach Cardinals defeated the Bradenton Marauders 4-3 on Thursday.

Thomas Spitz scored the game-winning run after he reached base on a walk and advanced to third on a single by Danny Diekroeger.

The Marauders tied the game at 3 when Mitchell Tolman hit an RBI double, driving in Cole Tucker in the ninth.

Palm Beach starter Jake Woodford struck out five while allowing one run and eight hits over six innings. Chandler Hawkins (3-1), the fifth Palm Beach pitcher, got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Yunior Montero (4-4) took the loss in the Florida State League game.

The Marauders squandered 13 hits and left 13 men on base. Tolman doubled twice and singled, driving home two runs for the Marauders. Tucker doubled and singled twice, scoring two runs.

Three of the Marauders’ past four games have gone extra innings. They are 1-2 in those games.
