This week's best bets for July 8

From baseball to golf, there are several options for sporting events to watch in person this weekend.

So here are this week’s best bets:

The Tampa Bay Rays play the Boston Red Sox at Tropicana Field. Tickets range from $26 and up, with Friday’s game having a special $7.11 ticket price for upper level seats at participating 7-Eleven stores in honor of the July 11 date. Saturday’s game features an Evan Longoria Game of Thrones Bobblehead giveaway to the first 15,000 fans, and Sunday’s game has a postgame concert by Lauren Alaina.

More baseball can be found locally at Lakewood Ranch Little League. The Little League Section IV tournament field includes Buffalo Creek’s 8-10 year olds, Lakewood Ranch’s 9-11 year olds and Braden River’s seniors team. Admission is free and games are Friday night and throughout Saturday starting at 9 a.m.

At LECOM Park, the Bradenton Marauders play host to the Tampa Yankees in Florida State League action. Tickets are $6-10 plus parking. Saturday’s 6:30 p.m. game features a free T-shirt to the first 750 fans as part of 80’s Night. There’s also a special offer for healthcare professionals. The Florida State Women’s Stroke Play wraps up at Sara Bay Country Club on Sunday. The 54-hole FSGA tournament is free for spectators. The 84-player field has tee times starting at 8 a.m. off Nos. 1 and 10 on Saturday and Sunday. If you’re going, wear proper golf attire.
