Tiger Woods completes ‘private intensive program,’ after DUI arrest, tweet says
After a DUI arrest earlier this year, Tiger Woods tweeted Monday that he has completed a “private intensive program.”
“I recently completed an out of state private intensive program. I will continue to tackle this going forward with my doctors, family and friends. I am so very thankful for all of the support I’ve received,” the tweet read.
As of 8:30 p.m., the tweet has been liked 5,500 times and retweeted more than 900 times. Many tweeted replies of encouragement to the professional golfer.
Woods, 41, said he was getting professional help to manage back pain, a sleep disorder and his medications in a June 19 tweet.
He was arrested on a DUI charge in Jupiter after he was found asleep at the wheel of his vehicle shortly after 2 a.m. on May 29, according to an Associated Press report.
Woods later told officers that he took prescribed medications including Xanax and Vicodin, but didn’t have anything to drink or take any illegal drugs, according to News4Jax. Two breath tests recorded a 0.000 percent reading.
Woods recently had his fourth back surgery, according to the Palm Beach Post. He is expected to return to court in August.
