The Florida State League All-Star game in Lakeland had a decidedly Bradenton Marauders tint to it Saturday night.

However, all those Marauders were unable to prevent the North division all-stars from beating their South division counterparts, 5-2, at Joker Marchant Stadium.

Nine Marauders were originally named to the game and two more were added as late replacements. Four were in the starting lineup for the South. However, 11 North pitchers combined on a five-hitter, and the Marauders were largely quiet at the plate.

Logan Hill started in left went 1 for 3 with a double. He struck out twice. Christian Kelley started behind the plate and went 0 for 1. Casey Hughston started in center field and went 0 for 2.

Will Craig and Ke’Bryan Hayes, who were named to the team as replacements, also saw time. Craig started at first base and went 0 for 2. Hayes entered a defensive replacement at third base. He struck out in his only at-bat.

On the mound, only two Marauders pitchers saw action.

Jake Brentz pitched a shutout fourth inning. He allowed one walk and struck out two. Yunior Montero walked one and struck out one in  2/3 of an inning in relief in the seventh.

Starting pitchers Dario Agrazal and Mitch Keller and reliever Seth McGarry were not among the nine pitchers used by the South.

Shortstop Cole Tucker missed the game because he is on the disabled list.
