Yankees complete sweep of Marauders

Tim Lynch hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning, leading the Tampa Yankees to a 3-1 win over the Bradenton Marauders on Thursday. With the victory, the Yankees swept the four-game Florida State League series at LECOM Park.

The home run by Lynch scored Gosuke Katoh.

Lynch also accounted for the Yankees’ other run. He hit an RBI double in the second, scoring Katoh to tie the game at 1.

In the bottom of the first, Bradenton had grabbed the lead on a solo home run by Will Craig.

Joe Harvey (1-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless relief while Jess Amedee (3-3) took the loss in the Florida State League game. Anyelo Gomez retired the side in order for his first save of the season.

The Marauders were held to five hits; leadoff batter Mitchell Tolman had two of them.

With the win, Tampa improved to 7-1 against Bradenton this season.
