Long night for Marauders, who fall to Yankees in 11 innings after 90-minute rain delay
Kyle Holder hit an RBI single in the top of the 11th inning to lead the Tampa Yankees to a 2-1 win over the Bradenton Marauders on Monday at LECOM Park.
Nick Solak scored the go-ahead run on the single after he led off the inning with a single, advanced to second on a strikeout by Trey Amburgey and then went to third on a wild pitch.
Reliever Andrew Schwaab (4-1) picked up the win after he struck out two while allowing one hit over three scoreless innings. Jess Amedee (3-2) went one inning, allowing one run and two hits while striking out one in the Florida State League game.
Solak doubled and singled twice in the win.
For the Marauders, Casey Hughston doubled and singled, also stealing three bases.
The game, originally scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start, did not begin until just after 8 p.m. because of a rain delay.
