Dunedin two-hits Bradenton in FSL
Jordan Romano struck out nine hitters over seven innings, leading the Dunedin Blue Jays over the Bradenton Marauders 3-1 in Florida State League play on Saturday.
Kender Villegas got Logan Hill to fly out with a runner on first to end the game for his third save of the season.
Romano (3-1) picked up the win after he allowed one run and one hit.
Bradenton started the scoring in the first inning. After being hit with a pitch to lead off the inning, Logan Ratledge advanced to second on a single by Ke’Bryan Hayes, went to third on a groundout, and then scored on a groundout.
The Blue Jays took the lead for good with two runs in the sixth inning. Juan Kelly hit an RBI double and then scored on a single by Bradley Jones en route to the one-run lead.
The Blue Jays tacked on another run in the eighth when Cavan Biggio scored on a force out.
Dario Agrazal (5-3) went six innings, allowing two runs and six hits to take the hard-luck loss in the Florida State League game. He also struck out six and walked one.
