Will Craig powers Bradenton Marauders past Dunedin
Will Craig had two hits and two RBI to power the Bradenton Marauders past the Dunedin Blue Jays 8-4 in Florida State League play on Friday.
With the game tied at 4 in the top of the fourth, Ke’Bryan Hayes hit an RBI triple and Craig added an RBI double to cap a three-run inning. All three runs scored with two outs in the inning.
Craig and Hayes also figured prominently in the two-run third that tied the game at 4. Hayes led off the inning with a walk and scored on Craig’s double. Craig scored on a double play.
Christian Kelley added an insurance run in the seventh with his second homer of the season.
All the offense made a winner out of Bradenton starter Taylor Hearn (4-4), who allowed four runs over five innings, including a two-run homer by Cavan Biggio in the second.
Opposing starter Ryan Borucki (3-2) allowed seven runs and seven hits over 3 2/3 innings.
In addition to Craig, Logan Ratledge and Kevin Krause collected two hits as part of Bradenton’s 10-hit night.
With the win, Bradenton improved to 4-1 against Dunedin this season.
