Five pitchers lead Bradenton past Dunedin

Will Craig hit a run-scoring single in the seventh inning, leading the Bradenton Marauders to a 2-1 victory against the Dunedin Blue Jays in Florida State League play on Thursday.

Logan Ratledge scored on Craig’s single after he led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a ground out.

Daniel Zamora, the fifth Bradenton pitcher, ended the game with a double play to earn his fifth save.

Gage Hinsz started for Bradenton and pitched five shutout innings, scattering four hits and two walks. He left with a 1-0 lead, but Brandon Cumpton allowed a run on two hits and a walk in the sixth to tie the game. Craig’s single gave Cumpton (1-0) his first win with Bradenton.

Alfredo Reyes’ fourth-inning sacrifice scored Jordan George to give Bradenton the lead.

With the win, Bradenton improved to 3-1 against Dunedin this season.

Zach Jackson (0-1) took the loss.

Craig finished 3 for 4, the only Marauders player with more than one hit. Bradenton helped its cause by turning three double plays.
