Marauders shut out for first time this season
Cole Tucker was thrown out at the plate trying to score from first on a sacrifice bunt in the ninth inning, and the Bradenton Marauders lost to the St. Lucie Mets 1-0 in the finale of a four-game series Thursday at LECOM Park.
St. Lucie’s Austin McGeorge then struck out Will Craig with the tying run on third base, ending Bradenton’s last chance to pull even or win the game.
Pedro Vasquez (4-3) pitched well for seven innings for the Marauders, allowing one earned run and striking out six.
The strikeout came with a runner on third and was the second out in a scoreless inning for the Marauders.
