BMX State Championships conclude in Sarasota

Ellenton’s Matt Moberly logged the best finish among locals competing in the veteran pro division of the 2017 BMX Sunshine State Association Florida Cup race held in Sarasota on Saturday.

Moberly finished behind St. Petersburg’s Larry Dardini.

Ohio’s Jeremy Smith won the men’s elite division title. Other top performers from Manatee County included: Bradenton’s Gianna Clark (first place, 6-and-younger mixed open; 1st, 6-year-old girls); Bradenton’s Ty Kelly (3rd, 11-12-years-olds mixed open; 3rd, 11-year-old intermediate); Palmetto’s Dylan Voss (3rd, 5-and-younger novice); Bradenton’s Brady Schulte (1st, 7-year-old novice); Bradenton’s Mike Krayesky (3rd, 8-year-old novice); Bradenton’s Mark Kopf (3rd, 36-40-year-old novice); Bradenton’s Mason Jacobsen (1st, 11-year-old intermediate); Bradenton’s Bradley Wiglund (2nd, 16-year-old intermediate); Myakka City’s Kayla Morris (3rd, 13-year-old girls); Bradenton’s Dena Dawson (2nd, 15-16-year-old girls); Bradenton’s Clayton Mahan (1st, 10-year-old expert); Myakka City’s Joseph Leto (1st, 16-year-old expert) and Bradenton’s Kendal Wong (1st, 17-18-year-old expert).
