Sarasota’s Worthy wins in knockout

Richard “Most” Worthy of the Sarasota Boxing Club was a first-round knockout winner on Saturday, flooring Jay Rancel, 33, of Lehigh Acres in 37 seconds in a USA Boxing contest.

It was the second bout for Worthy, 19, a student at Pine View School, and the amateur boxing debut for Rancel, who is 11-2 in MMA competition.

The Sarasota Boxing Club is now 375-120, which is the best club mark in Florida amateur boxing.
