How to escape high-lipped bunkers
It’s a trouble shot that plagues most golfers: the high-lipped bunker. Don’t worry, Bradenton Country Club head pro Brian Lake has the solution. Creating more loft is part of the trick.
“You still have to splash the sand properly, enter the sand a couple inches and under the ball — don’t touch it — and exit a couple inches past the ball,” Lake said. “So that’s important. But by setting up with your hands a little bit behind, it adds loft and it adds so it makes it easier to slide the club under the ball.”
