Here’s how to create an argument in shuffleboard
Last week at Briney Breezes on Florida’s East Coast in the Southeast Coast District, I offered my conjecture that shuffle play was 33 percent skill, 33 percent strategy and 34 percent luck. My opponent responded vehemently that there is no luck involved.
A couple of hours later we prevailed, winning the match, and this opponent declared that we were lucky to win!
I explained to this sudden convert that one reason luck is such a factor is that in a doubles match, which we were playing, eight opportunities for luck exists. I explained that each player can have good luck on some efforts and bad luck on others, so eight opportunities exist in doubles and four in singles.
Many players have agreed with this philosophy over the years, but a few have been surprised or at least bemused by this view.

We note a couple of errors in some circulating district tournament schedules.
On Friday, the schedule says yes in the lunch column, while on Thursday it says no to lunch. Palmetto took on this extra tournament from Tri-Par with the agreement they would not have to do lunch. So, there is no lunch available at Palmetto on either day.
Also on Dec. 15 at Golf Lakes, the early schedule showed yes on lunch. Golf Lakes will not offer lunch on Dec. 15 or Dec. 16. We hope this eliminates any confusion.
