Levine, Gozun reach Vitale clay court tennis final
LAKEWOOD RANCH Top-seeded Duke freshman Robert Levine cruised into the Sunday’s final of the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic at Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club.
Levine lost three games in a 6-2, 6-1 victory against George Washington’s Julius Tverijonas in Saturday’s semifinals.
Levine will face the University of South Florida’s Alexandru Gozun, the tournament’s second seed. Gozun outlasted unseeded Chris Morin-Kougoucheff, of Louisville, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 in the other semifinal.
In the women’s draw, Virginia Tech’s Elena Cerezo-Codin and top-seeded Anna Danilina, of Florida, advanced to Sunday’s final. Cerezo-Codin beat Ohio State’s Olivia Sneed 6-2, 6-4. Danilina topped fourth-seeded Ohio State’s Miho Kowase 6-3, 6-3
