n A listing of local health events and screenings appears weekly in this section and online at Bradenton.com/health. This is where you can find information about upcoming health screenings at hospitals, pharmacies and other locations.

n Sam’s Club holds health screenings monthly in store pharmacies, which are open to non-members. Tests vary each month. In June, a free PSA blood test screening for prostate cancer and a thyroid test are scheduled. Look for information about 2011 screenings at www.samsclub.com; click on pharmacy and scroll to free health screenings. Enter your ZIP code for dates and time.

n The Manatee County Health Department is at 410 Sixth Ave. E., Bradenton. Visit www.doh.state.fl.us/chdmanatee, or call 748-0747 for information about health screenings.

n Check in occasionally with the pharmacy at your local supermarket or drug store and ask whether any wellness screenings are scheduled.
