Donald Trump contrasts sharply with Honest Abe
A recent Donald Trump rant, the Republican Party is the party of Abraham Lincoln. Yet, it was Lincoln who once cogently observed in his First Annual Message on Dec. 3, 1861: “Labor is prior to and independent of capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor and never has existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is superior to capital and deserves much higher consideration.”
In contrast, using rape-and-pillage corporate practices favored by Wall Street, Donald Trump made billions while swindling and bankrupting untold numbers of hourly workers and small businesses in projects across the country. Trump has engaged in wage theft, has outsourced his clothing line and other brand name products to such low-wage countries as China and Vietnam. He has underpaid undocumented immigrants engaged in dangerous construction work on his luxury projects, to name but a few of his nefarious, anti-worker onslaughts.(See “Billionaire Trump Fleeces Workers, Small Business.”)
Hillary Clinton is far more attuned to the needs of working people, which is why she has the support of organized labor. (See AFL-CIO, “10 Reasons Hillary Clinton Stands with Working people.”)
The party of Abraham Lincoln?
The American Nazi Party has recently essentially endorsed Donald Trump, stating that a Trump victory would be a “real opportunity.” (See “The Leader of the American Nazi Party supports Trump.”)
Honest Abe would be turning over in his grave if he were aware of the demagoguery (unmasked in the book “Trump Unveiled”) that Donald Trump has been foisting on the American people.
