I have no motive to be interested in the school board election; however, all citizens should be paying attention to educating our future.

I have never met Xtavia Bailey but I must share an experience I had with her that makes me support her for Manatee County School Board. I planned an event for Animal Services about a year ago. I contacted Ms. Bailey regarding the Kiwanis Club and their grill team. She answered her phone immediately and could not have been more enthusiastic.

She gave me a contact that was in charge of this. I phoned the connection and she as well was eager about the event and made all the arrangements. Ms. Bailey called shortly after to make sure I was satisfied with the preparations. She was so interested you would have thought this small event was a major affair attended by a diplomat.

This may seem like a minor occurrence, although it wasn’t to me; actually it was very exceptional. It showed organizational and delegation skills. It showed a real care for the community. It exhibited leadership and follow up, as well as attention to details.

I also find her honesty and qualifications as an educator to be a huge benefit to our school board.

Sometimes little things show the character of a person.
