Thanks, Mosaic, for investments in community

With school in session again, it occurred to us that there is no slow season in Bradenton. We have activities on the Riverwalk, the Farmers’ Market, Snooty’s Birthday Bash, South Florida Museum programs, festivals and anything else you can think of most days of the year.

Several factors contribute to this momentum. Realize Bradenton and the South Florida Museum work in tandem with a host of other organizations to do their part.

Another major contributor of time, talent and treasure with major impact is Mosaic. Mosaic has been the presenting sponsor for the downtown Bradenton Farmers’ Market for five years. Each Saturday, people benefit from locally grown produce and handmade crafts.

Because of Mosaic’s support, children and their families benefit from interactive programs on nutrition, arts, and literacy. We are fortunate to have a corporate stakeholder that invests so much in our community’s long-term success.

The South Florida Museum is creating a new resource for families and schools thanks to significant support from Mosaic. The Mosaic Backyard Universe will be a new wing that provides children and families with opportunities to explore and understand the world around them in a familiar setting, a typical backyard.

Fun for all ages, the Backyard Universe is designed to address the state science curricula of Florida’s pre-K through second grades. Mosaic has supported programs at the museum since 2008 and supports education in the county through multiple groups.

In terms of “time and talent,” Mosaic’s face in Manatee County, Jackie Barron, is a museum trustee and serves on the boards of many other education and service organizations. We thank Mosaic for consistently and generously investing in Bradenton to help make Manatee County the amazing place that it is.
