Manatee County wastes money!

About six months ago we added a small lanai to our house. We made plans and sent them to the county. The county approved the plans.

We built the lanai and two months later the county, who had the plans, came and inspected the lanai and verified the lanai.

Today, six months later, a property appraiser came to inspect the lanai. He measured and photographed it. I asked why he was doing this and he said, “I am the property appraiser, we must inspect.”

Here’s my question: Why is this man wasting my tax dollars and why is he driving a pickup truck? A compact car would be adequate.

The county has the lanai plans; the county also has a dimensioned blueprint from the building inspector. Are the appraisers so incompetent that they cannot look at what has already been done by another department?

The present Manatee County property appraiser has been in office for 24 years. It’s time for a change.

Vote for Chester Bullock, Republican, for property appraiser. Let’s stop the politicians’ demand for more taxes. Let’s instead cut costs!
