Candidates lie about Trump support

I find it amazing that the Herald would run a banner headline announcing that Sen. Ted Cruz upstaged Gov. Pence at the Republican Convention. What Sen. Cruz did was show himself to be a self-serving sore loser whose word carries no value at all. If there was an upstaging, it was when Speaker Newt Gingrich read between the lines of Sen. Cruz’s speech and turned it into a tacit endorsement!

Sen. Cruz was approved for a nine-minute speech and stayed for 23. He, along with Governors Bush and Kasich, insisted Mr. Trump and all candidates sign a pledge to support the eventual nominee. They did this thinking Mr. Trump was a flash in the pan.

Wanting to prevent him from running as an independent, taking votes away from the candidate eventually nominated, Sen. Cruz was asked directly, “If Mr. Trump is the nominee, will you support him?” Mr. Cruz, without hesitation, answered “yes.”

All three of them signed this pledge when it was convenient to them, but when the time came to honor that commitment, they failed to do so, yet they want to be elected to the highest office in the land. Voters should remember this and never place any of them in any elected position again!

This is not about Mr. Trump, but about politicians lying to the American public!
