I am one of the original volunteers at Manatee County Animal Services “Downtown Meowtown.” I continue to volunteer to get cats and kittens adopted.
My husband also works tirelessly to walk dogs at the Palmetto shelter. We both continue to support working as volunteers at Manatee County Animal Services,
I received this letter from a long-time supporter of this adoption center, now often referred to as MCAS Downtown Adoption Center (DTMT). I feel this to be very relevant to share with the public.
“I’m one of those people who believes God plants people in our lives for a reason. About nine years ago I made a friendship with one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known. Outside of my medical visits to see her, we became friends and I’ve grown to truly love her. Today I can’t even put into words how much she means to me and how much I admire her for her love and dedication to animals.
“If your looking for a fur-baby, please consider a shelter baby. If you would like to help an animal but aren’t in a situation where you could be a fur-ever home, please consider becoming a volunteer, a donation to the shelter or paying an adoption fee for one of their many precious babies. And when you see a volunteer, please thank them. You have no idea what they see and the amount of love they show these babies.”
