Letters to the Editor

Thanks to Herald staff for 'great job' caring for readers

People write letters to the editor and other columns in our oldest Manatee County paper in which we voice our opinion, feelings, and concerns about different topics. But do we ever think about the ones who actually respond to our letters?

Well, I decided to speak about three gentlemen who are employed by our oldest paper, the Bradenton Herald. They are: James (Jim) Jones, Chris Wille and Mark Young. In order to explain just how important these gentlemen’s jobs are and the hard work that go into their jobs: Good writing is much more than correct writing, it is writing that responds to the interest and needs of their readers. Here are the basic characteristics of good, effective writing: good writing has a clear and defined purpose, it makes a defined point and it supports that point with specific information.

The list is too long to provide them all. Why I am writing this article is to say thank you for all your hard work and making your readers happy. So, readers, take a moment sometime and just say thank you to them for caring so much and working so hard in trying to please their readers. I truly thank you guys for doing such a great job.
