GOP leaders owe support to Trump

This is an open letter to the leadership of the GOP at all levels.

There are reports that influential people including the Bush family, Messrs. McCain, Romney and others have said they will not attend the Cleveland convention. This is a huge ego trip that is unworthy of all those involved. It is not because we need these individuals to vote for the GOP nominee.

The problem is that these leaders’ actions will encourage their supporters to withdraw their votes for Donald Trump and thereby risk giving the election to an incompetent liberal candidate. We cannot let this happen again!

Members of the GOP rank and file have had more than enough of mistaken Republican adventures. We supported GOP leaders when our loyalty was more important than our feelings of dissatisfaction. It is time for the GOP leadership to discard their egotistic motives and support the party’s nominee.

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan’s behavior is also unworthy of him and his office. Cut out your reckless acts and support our nominee enthusiastically and without reservation. Ditto Bill Kristal.

Donald Trump has made history in prevailing over some 17 candidates seeking the GOP nomination. There were times he hit back very hard against certain individuals, but the people have nonetheless voted in a majority to select Donald Trump as their nominee. Every GOP leader is now obligated to support him enthusiastically.

Let’s also remember why he is our nominee for president of the USA. Donald Trump has built an enormously successful company. He rejects political correctness, and he is inspired to fix a lot of our problems. He has an impressive family behind him, and there is every indication that he will surround himself in office with extremely talented people.

Will all the GOP leaders I have mentioned, please alter their behavior and help save this nation from disaster!
