Texting just isn’t writing
In reference to the May 28 article “Pen Pals and Seniors,” I just have to applaud those teachers! It is a wonderful thing you are teaching those children.
I have five grandchildren. The youngest is 19. I think I can count on one hand the notes I have gotten from them. No, I am not a crabby old nana. We all love each other and get along fine.
I was told years ago that without a computer I wouldn’t hear from them. So, I got a computer. I didn’t hear from them. Now I’m told that if don’t text, I won’t hear from them. Well, I don’t text. I’m not sure they would know how to write a note or address an envelope. I guess it really isn’t their fault.
Keep up the good work, teachers!
