Don't make guns like smart phones with code access
I am strongly opposed to devices that control who can use a firearm. Not going into the issue of rings, bracelets or other electronic ideas, I am limiting my comments to the use of fingerprint access only.
I use this technology on my iPhone. It works well. But I'd hate to have to wait, while under pressure for it to operate.
However, my biggest complaint is this: I work with my hands a lot. Construction! I use sandpaper, paints and adhesives.
On more than one occasion I have found my iPhone would not recognize my fingertip print because it was worn off, filled with paint or glue. I had to wait weeks for the ridges to reappear.
The alternative was to key in a code. More waiting and stress could affect my ability to do that. Not a good idea.
