Protect manatees feeding at Bradenton bridge over Ware's Creek with 'No Wake' signs

Residents of Bradenton Westminster Towers and Shores enjoy watching manatees feeding in Ware's Creek north of the Manatee Avenue Bridge.

Several days ago we watched as a boater, traveling at a high rate of speed, struck and injured one of these defenseless creatures that we are fortunate to have in our waters.

It seems to me, as a person who also kayaks in the Manatee River/Ware's Creek bridge area, that "No Wake-Manatee Area" signs on both sides of the channel under that bridge would help prevent injuries to manatees that frequently feed there.
