Failures of public education, media are a boost to Hillary Clinton
In a recent letter, John George presented a litany of Hillary Clinton's criminal activities and thus why she belongs in prison and not the White House. A logical question from the George letter is, "Why are so many Americans willing to vote for Hillary?" I would suggest the following.
Once, Americans had a strong sense of right, wrong, good and evil. If a candidate had a sinister history like Hillary, the press would out the person and their run for office would end.
Over the past 50 years the mainstream media has become increasingly entrenched with the Democratic Party. This furtive connection has changed the mainstream media from the practice of reporting illicit behavior to burying it.
Hillary's past corrupt behavior is never mentioned and her recent corruption is only mentioned when it can't be avoided. This complicit behavior of the mainstream media denies Democrat voters information necessary to judge the character of their candidates.
A second circumstance that prevents America's youth from knowing the critical importance of voting is the seizure of the public education system by socialists. This removes from American history the idea of the strength in the design of our representative republic as defense from the governmental tyranny of socialism.
The socialist style of education has convinced many that it is the responsibility of the population to pay for the welfare of all. America has become like a beehive where the queen programs the workers to do as told.
With the loss of our history, many have never learned the strength of the individual. Many have come to expect the government to fill their needs even if they don't contribute to the hive.
The shrinking number of Americans who retain a spark of self-reliance cannot overcome the explosion of socialism through civil obedience. Civil disobedience may be next.
