Manatee school board should decouple impact fee, sales tax

Open letter to Superintendent Diana Greene and our school board members.

Here's a simple solution to school funding: Rescind your caveat to local developers to reduce their impact fee to 50 percent should the sales tax be extended and charge them the maximum allowable amount. Then put the half cent referendum on a ballot for voters.

That is the only way I would support the referendum and urge others to do the same. We cannot afford to let the local developers call the shots anymore.

They have had it their way for far too long.
