Manatee school board should not rehire Bob Gagnon

For the past four weeks there have been indications that the legal case with Bob Gagnon may be coming to a close.

We can only hope that this will not include a large monetary settlement nor a lucrative position within the school district. But the citizens will have NO say in the matter, which will be settled in a shade meeting with the school board.

One has to wonder how they can come to a conclusion on the Gagnon case while there are still two active cases pertaining to the Rod Frazier scandal that have not been settled.

The school board lawyer said at the last meeting that the Troy Pumphrey case was at an impasse and it appears that the Steve Gulash case is still ongoing.

Rick Mills, former superintendent, has now hired his own lawyer in the Gagnon case. This new law firm is nationally known and may shed some new light on a case that seems to have stymied our local lawyers. Mills has made the statement that he feels that these open cases could spill over into Gagnon's case.

Let's hope that the school board does not allow Mr. Gagnon to once again have access to students. After all, he failed to ensure the safety of the students entrusted to his care. Please let your school board members know your feelings in this matter.
