Co-op community board runs roughshod over residents

I'm a senior (82) who, with my wife, owns two RV lot shares in an over 55 community co-op. Our two lots are at the end of a block. Our fifth wheel is on the end lot, the other lot is vacant.

Our park rules clearly state that lot boundary lines must not be moved. Yet the park manager has moved our lot boundary to provide parking space for my neighbor.

To confirm his action as unlawful, we sought legal advice and were assured this was an unlawful act. The attorney wrote to the co-op president and suggested he get the lot line replaced. The manager informed my attorney, as he did the board, that "no lot lines have been moved." A visit to the site will confirm the unlawful situation remains.

The co-op board has decided to hide the manager's unlawful act and to take the manager's word that "no lot lines have been moved." They have declared with contempt, "no further discussion" on this subject!

The bigger problem here is the integrity and decency of the administration of a 500-unit park of seniors. It seems boards and managers think they are at liberty to abuse their powers, break the law, steal property, lie and cheat and indulge in conspiracy to hide an unlawful act.

This sort of thing is not good for park communities. We, the residents and shareholders of most parks, are swamped with petty rules and regulations, yet the administration can break the laws at will, and no one seems to care.
