Beyonce's Super Bowl show disrespects law officers
A lot of football fans were not pleased with the half-time Super Bowl show featuring Beyonce, especially former New York Mayor Rudi Giuliani, which alluded to the Black Panthers and Malcolm X, as an "attack" on police officers.
Mayor Giuliani says, "This is football, not Hollywood! I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers who are the people who protect her and protect us and keep us alive."
During her performance of her song "Formation," Beyonce's back-up dancers wore black berets reminiscent of those worn by the Black Panthers and formed an "X," which some viewers interpreted as a call-out to Malcolm X.
"What we should be doing in the African-American community and all communities is build up respect for police officers and focus on the fact that when something does go wrong, OK, we'll work on that." Giuliani continued, "but the vast majority of police officers risk their lives to keep us safe."
Most Americans who were alive back when Malcolm X was professing that the Black Panthers should kill all white people and their babies have this in their minds when the word "Black Panthers" is brought up.
I think the NFL and Rodger Goodall owe all Americans an apology.
